Good Neighbours Scheme
This is a community-based charity that harnesses the skills and goodwill of volunteers (currently 69) to support vulnerable people in their community. We frequently get referrals from local hospitals, doctors, district nurses, the local social services and are often contacted by the families of elderly local residents asking for help. We run a range of weekly services through most of the year which aim to reduce isolation and enable our clients to remain in their local community.

Home-Start Barnet (emotional and practical support for families)
We support families in the boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Enfield, Harrow and Tower Hamlets who are facing issues such as loneliness, isolation, financial difficulties, anxiety, post-natal depression, ill health, the threat of violence, multiple births, or disabilities. We help them grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and forge links with the local community.

Menopause
The menopause is when a woman stops having periods and is no longer able to get pregnant naturally.Periods usually start to become less frequent over a few months or years before they stop altogether. Sometimes they can stop suddenly.The menopause is a natural part of ageing that usually occurs between 45 and 55 years of age, as a woman’s oestrogen levels decline. In the UK, the average age for a woman to reach the menopause is 51.

Ruth Devlin set up Let’s Talk Menopause to help raise awareness and to provide accurate information on the menopause. She is passionate about providing women and employers with evidence-based information and support, helping women to make informed decisions about how to manage their menopause and so improve their quality of life.
